Dendura's lead vocalist Aziza has a voice that can, well, drive holes through small mountains. For female vocalists, she's got more power and fury in a simple verse than others have in their most passionate screams. The music itself is very much melodic soundtrack-metal in a remotely similar vein to Queensryche or Dream Theater. Lots of symphonic keyboard work with buck-heavy guitar work. They definitely compose their material with movie soundtracks in mind, including having their work recently placed in the independent film Broken. This is a fine example of Egyptian music in a genre all their own. Reviewed July 2007 by Poseidon poseidon (at) gothicbeauty (dot) com |
