Toronto-based Threat Signal blurs the lines of metal subgenres (albeit heavy on the Thrash) on their premier release, and if this is just their first album, I can’t wait to see where their music takes us in the future! This is full of crisp, sharp musicianship and fantastic vocal harmonies, combining both the standard growls with fresh clean vox. “A New Beginning” has almost H.I.M.-like or In Flames-like mesmerizing guitar riffs, comparable to the best of the Scandinavian metal scene. “Seeing Red” is out-of-control rage. “Now” is no-nonsense, and includes the refrain, “Your Time Is Now”. Carpe Diem, baby!
